Sudan’s coup leader, Abdel-Fattah al-Burhan, held talks with the Egyptian president in Cairo. Egyptian sources with insight told that Red Sea security was one of the main issues.

Sudan’s coup leader held talks with the Egyptian president in Cairo on Wednesday, where he tried to appease fears that Sudan could turn into regional and international flashpoint because of Russian naval encroachment.

Egyptian sources with insight told that Red Sea security was one of the main issues on the agenda of the summit held by Abdel-Fattah al-Burhan, head of the ruling Sovereign coup Council in Sudan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi during their talks.

Such concerns had come to the fore most recently after a visit to Moscow, last February, by the deputy head of Sudan’s ruling coup council, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.

The visit comes after similar trips to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, to discuss the deteriorating political and economic conditions in Sudan and to seek their support for his isolated military rule.
