Ahead of the UNSC meeting on Sudan, the United States and the European Union have clearly stated their positions. The United States and the European Union have issued a joint official statement regarding the political situation in Sudan. They are very clear opponents of al-Burhan’s military coup.

Troika and EU Statement: “The Troika and the European Union will not support a Prime Minister or government appointed without the involvement of a broad range of civilian stakeholders. We continue to hold the military authorities responsible for human rights violations which are against current national legislation and international law.”

“The killing of scores of Sudanese, sexual violence and the injuries of hundreds more by the security services and other armed groups since the October 25 military takeover is unacceptable. We reiterate the need for independent investigations into these deaths and associated violence, and call for the perpetrators to be held accountable.”

Attacks on hospitals, detentions of activists and journalists, and communication blackouts, must also stop. We once again call for all those unjustly detained to be released and for the State of Emergency to be lifted immediately.”

The UN Security Council will meet next Wednesday, January 12, in an informal session. The session will be behind closed doors, according to sources. The meeting was requested by six of the council’s 15 members: the United States, Britain, France, Norway, Ireland and Albania. A common position of the Security Council is not expected. China and Russia will probably oppose it.

Social Media Activities Ahead of the UNSC Meeting

In recent times, “truth tellers” have appeared on social media defending the coup forces’ use of unnecessary force. With more or less imaginative and unlikely theories about the murders and assaults. Some of the theories can only be produced by a less functional brain.

Investigating deaths and assaults since the military coup has not been taken seriously by the military authorities. It has only resulted in free fantasies about protesters disguised as military or Rapid Support Forces. And who then allegedly stole military vehicles and weapons to commit suicide. That is the seriousness and quality of al-Burhan’s investigations.

The fact that these truth-tellers are appearing right now is certainly not a coincidence. This is only the beginning of an attempt to defense. To the allegations of atrocities committed by al-Burhan’s military. UNSC is a very powerful organ with great authority.

Moreover, I think al-Burhan has lost all dignity, honor and identity.
He is an enemy of God, the Sudanese, and the humanity.
