$5 Million Reward – Joseph Kony


The United States Embassy in Khartoum has announced a $5 million reward for information on the leader of the Ugandan Lord’s Resistance Army, the notorious Joseph Kony. Kony is the current leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army, a christian guerrilla group previously operating in Uganda.

LRA is designated as a terrorist group by the United Nations Peacekeepers, the European Union and various other governments. He has been accused by government entities of ordering the abduction of children to become child soldiers and sex slaves.

Approximately 66,000 children became soldiers. 2 million people were displaced internally from 1986 to 2009 by his forces. Kony was indicted in 2005 for war crimes and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), is a Christian extremist organization. Which operates in northern Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The group draws income from elephant ivory, gold, and diamonds, and has received support from the Government of Sudan.

Joseph Kony claimed he would liberate Uganda. Establish a state ruled according to his own version of The Bible’s Ten Commandments. Joseph Kony later added an 11th. Banning the riding of bicycles with offenders punished with amputation.

On Thursday, the US Embassy in Khartoum posted an update. Offering $ 5 million for information leading to the arrest of Joseph Kony.
