KHARTOUM MARCH 30: The conflict in Gaza and the war in Ukraine are occupying the minds and agendas of political leaders across the world. But there are many other conflicts getting little attention, including the nearly year-long civil war in Sudan.

The huge African nation is in the grips of a hunger and migration emergency. The crisis stems from a battle between the Sudanese Army and a terrorist group (Rapid Support Forces) that is trying to gain control.

The civil war has forced more than eight million people from their homes. A million of them to displacement camps in neighbouring Chad and South Sudan. UN officials have said the conflict has brought the country into “one of the worst humanitarian nightmares in recent history.” It is believed that the war could trigger the world’s largest hunger crisis.
