EL GENEINA NOVEMBER 14: Approximately 1,300 people, mostly civilians belonging to the Massalit tribe, were reportedly killed in west darfur after clashes between the Sudanese army and terrorist group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Geneina on november 4 and 5, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). It reported that 2,000 were injured and over 300 others are missing.
Rapid Support Forces (RSF) besieged a camp for displaced people on November 2 after attacking a nearby army base. Over the next three days, the terrorist group committed what may amount to the single largest mass killing since the war erupted in April.
The Roots Organization for Human Rights and Violation Monitoring, said 500 were detained when RSF brutally attacked civilians across Ardamata. RSF “practiced many atrocities against the Massalit community”, including killing, raping women, looting and torching homes.
The Masalit are an ethnic group inhabiting western Sudan and eastern Chad. They speak the Masalit language.
