Uziza leaves come from an African plant. They have a peppery taste and the is typically used to make different kinds of soups. In English, it is most commonly known as “piper guineense”. If you can´t manage to find uzize leaves in your local store you could just use parsley. Also, you could choose to include other condiments.

How To Make African Peppersoup

Once you have managed to gather all the necessary ingredients to cook this dish, you can move on to the cooking process.

In the first place, you are going to grab your goat meat and chop it into cutlets. Once all the meat is cut, rinse it a little bit and then place it in a pot.

Once the goat meat is in the pot, add salt to your personal taste. Then, add the seasoning cube and the habanero peppersalong with one half of the onion. You should leave all of these ingredients to cook for around 30 minutes or so.

While the meat and all the other ingredients are cooking, you will be using that spare time to grate the half onion that you did not add to the pot.

After those 30 minutes have gone by, add to the pot the peppersoup spice as well as the red chilli flakes and the ginger powder. Add the half onion that you just grated too and the crayfish. Now you are going to leave all of it cooking for about ten more minutes.

After those ten minutes, the soup should be perfectly cooked so you are going to add the uziza leaves and stir the soup a little bit. Then, you are going to let it simmer for around five minutes.

Serve

Once it is ready, you can serve it and eat it. The best way to serve this soup it while it is still hot and you can serve it with some yam, bread or rice among others.

We hope you enjoy yourself cooking this dish and of course, that you find it tasty!
